Action for Happiness is based on the developing science of happiness. As a science, this is less than 30 years old and much remains to be discovered. But enough is known to indicate key directions of change which would produce happier lives.

In this website we try to summarise much of this knowledge. Inevitably there is simplification but we try wherever possible to quote the scientific basis for what is said. Anyone who wants to read what is known in a more linear and systematic way than can be found on the website is encouraged to read any of the following books.
