  • I treat everyone I interact with at work like a person, not as a means to an end. Sometimes that means providing them with some emotional support or re-organising my plans to get work done to take into account their needs at that moment in time. If I see that someone is struggling, I try to make that five minutes to grab a cup of tea and go somewhere quiet for a chat. Most of all I try (though I sometimes fail) not to judge or pre-judge people... we are all but human.

We trained a group of staff to act as "friendly faces" and also run occasional wellbeing activities on things like meditation. Our sickness absence for stress / anxiety / depression reduced significantly following this.

The issue of learning is directly tied your mood. The challenge of learning something valuable to your life can often affect the state of your mood and emotions for the better. The more time you have to sit and think about the same things over time, the more troubled your mind and emotions may become as a result. Bad feelings can easily fester and grow in such a weakened learning atmosphere.

After my initial shock and anger I realised he was right. Now I am happy for others who have achieved a promotion or an award it doesn't mean I am less of a person because I haven't. I actually took a grade lower job and feel much happier.

While few and far between, truly having people to trust makes all the difference in Post Traumatic Growth- after meeting one person in particular, I grew in ways I never knew possible just from his existence. As our relationship grew, he opened up to me about things he was going through and I was able to give him some tips I had learned along the way. Since we had those early intimate talks, we are now both in the best shape of our lives, we both are looking forward and planning long term goals versus looking forward to Friday, and many of my self destructive habits are disappearing in front of my eyes. Now we are working on building a beautiful tomorrow, starting with a very lovely today.

I teach it by giving lesson of laughter yoga, a special technique that helps people to shake their happiness and laugh even when there are no reasons to, because their body will release the joy cocktail that will reduce the stress. By laughing the body will also get way more oxygen and help you to feel more alive. You change chemical composition of your body and thoughts, into some positive. Happier. By living regular lessons of laughter yoga, you will have more energy to face the bad moments, with the awereness that everything goes, and sun will come back.
